Online Donation for WSC Christmas Adopt-A-Family

Now through December 17, 2023 | Use this form to make online donations to support the family we "adopted" for Christmas.

This year, PPMCC has the opportunity to bring some holiday cheer to a family of five that has faced setbacks due to a battle with cancer. The family, which includes two boys and two girls, ranging in age from 7 to 15, was referred to us through Westside Cares and the kids’ schools.

After being diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, Amanda, a single mom, went through two surgeries and radiation treatments in the last 18 months. The medical bills have been covered, but she had to drain down the family’s savings for household expenses during the period when she was unable to work.

The disability payments Amanda receives are not enough to support the family, so after an extensive job search, she recently landed a part-time position working nights at a local gym. Most of the places she applied were not willing to work around her medical appointments and treatments.

Amanda’s most recent MRIs have not shown any evidence of tumors so she feels her family is turning the corner, but she is grateful that PPMCC has “adopted” her family.

“This has been a very rough year,” she said. “You don’t know what it means to us! God bless you!”

To help this family, you may enter the amount you wish to donate in the box and enter your payment information. We will use this money to buy Walmart gift cards to give to the family. Collections end Dec. 17.
